Cassi Wright, Washington, D.C., United States
I live in Washington, DC after living for more than a decade in San Francisco, CA and as a native-born Californian am discovering spring for the first time in my life! I identify as a biracial (black and white) cis-gender woman. I am deeply involved in the leadership team of the Greenermind Summit, a community of changemakers who are mission driven with a focus on positive environmental and social impact. I am also deeply committed to social justice and increasing knowledge of our white supremacist history that was excluded from our education system.
I am fascinated by emotional intelligence and psychology and am constantly assessing what makes people tick, their behavioral habits, and what influences their decisions. I’m intellectually curious and love learning new things and being surrounded by people who are smarter than me. As an extrovert, I love engaging with others, processing out loud, helping others to problem solve and facilitating new connections.
For work, I help companies address the human rights and labor rights of factory workers in apparel supply chains through my work as the Training & Capacity Building Senior Manager at the Fair Labor Association. I’m passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) / Sustainability and believe strongly that companies have a responsibility to behave ethically towards all their stakeholders and not only their shareholders.
I have a degree in Organizational Studies and Spanish from Claremont Mckenna College and an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management, Claremont Graduate University. Following my traditional degree, I was a Rotary Ambassador of Goodwill in the Dominican Republic and had a Fulbright in Mexico City where I worked at Scotiabank. I also spent a year backpacking around the world through 30 countries in Europe Africa, and Asia.
