Kate Culley, New Jersey, United States
I was born and raised on the West Coast in California and now I live on the East Coast of the United States in New Jersey. I’ve been working in the Human Resources field for over twenty years, am Professional Human Resources and Human Resources Certification Institute certified, and have a bachelor's degree in Political Science.
My job can be intense and competitive: I have performance management for over three thousand people and every day I am acting as a change agent by assessing people, job skills, job tasks, analyzing job performance and training, and managing relationships with business leaders and partners and their employees, across company cultures while fitting everyone to the right skills and needs.
Because of the intensity of my job, I’ve learned to seek out balance in all parts of my life and to recognize that no matter what, life will run its course, things change (and it is ok for things to change), and we all face situations that will challenge us greatly.
As part of my life balance efforts, I get into the zone on my bike, enjoy going to sporting events, and rejuvenate at the beach. What puts passion into my soul is time with my family and friends and what fills me on a daily basis is the desire to always be learning something new. My three most recent book reads are Midnight Library by Matt Haig, Atomic Habits by James Clear, and Think Again by Adam Grant.
My wishes for the world are to have a more tolerant, team oriented, and empathetic political climate, safe and cost effective mental health options for all, and intergenerational and interracial relationship building. We all need each other and there is plenty of space for all of us to succeed and flourish.
