A: Break it down in to manageable steps:

• Identify your dream job/industry

• Make a list of the tangible skills needed

• Make a list of the soft skills that are needed

• Review your current resume to see which of your current tangible skills and which soft skills carry over to your new position

• Re-work your resume to focus on the skills that relate to your dream job

• Make a list of people you know that are already in the industry of your dream job and then call them to set up informational interviews

• If you can, take a certifiable class or short term internship that features skills that you will need for the dream job and add the class certification or internship to your resume

• Send out your resume, get hired, and start your new job!
